Aether is a healthspan and wellbeing app designed to help you track daily lifestyle patterns, Apple Health information, goals, supplements, biomarkers, simulations and weekly trends.

1. Important health and wellness notice
Any healthspan scores, projections, goal suggestions, trends, simulations or insights shown in Aether are for educational and general wellbeing purposes only. They should not be used as a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
If you have concerns about your health, symptoms, medication, supplements, test results or lifestyle changes, you should speak to a doctor or qualified healthcare professional.
2. Information we collect
Aether may collect and process the following types of information depending on how you use the app.
Account information
If you create an account for Cloud Backup, we collect:
- Your email address
- Your authentication details, handled securely by our authentication provider
- Account identifiers used to connect your app data to your account
We do not store your password in plain text.
Profile information
You may choose to enter information such as:
- Age range or date of birth, depending on the app version
- Sex or biological sex, if requested for healthspan context
- Height, weight or related wellbeing information
- Lifestyle preferences
- Main healthspan goals
- Onboarding answers
Apple Health data
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Aether may request access to selected Apple Health data, such as:
- Steps
- Sleep
- Heart rate
- Resting heart rate
- Heart rate variability
- Workouts
- VO2 max
- Activity or movement-related information
Aether only accesses Apple Health data types that you specifically approve through the Apple Health permission screen. You can change or revoke Apple Health permissions at any time in your iPhone settings.
Apple Health data is used to personalise your dashboard, baseline, movement context, trends, goal suggestions and weekly summaries.
Daily check-ins and goal data
Aether may store information you enter, such as:
- Today’s Signals
- Energy, stress, sleep, mood or recovery-style check-ins
- Goal actions
- Completed actions
- Goal streaks and progress
- Saved simulations
- Weekly review information
Biomarkers and supplements
If you choose to enter them, Aether may store:
- Biomarker names and values
- Dates of test results
- Supplement names
- Supplement notes
- Related context used to help you track patterns over time
Aether does not use supplement information to provide medical advice. Supplement tracking is used for personal context only.
Cloud Backup data
If you enable Cloud Backup, Aether may securely back up selected app data to our cloud database so you can restore your information if you reinstall the app or use another device.
Cloud Backup may include:
- Profile data
- Daily check-ins
- Goals and goal progress
- Biomarker entries
- Supplement entries
- Saved simulations
- App settings
- Notification preferences
- Other app data needed to restore your Aether experience
Cloud Backup is optional. If you do not create an account or use Cloud Backup, your data remains stored locally on your device unless otherwise stated.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, Aether may schedule local reminders on your device, such as:
- Today’s Signals reminders
- Goal action reminders
- Weekly review reminders
Notification preferences are used only to provide reminders you have enabled. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app or in your iPhone settings.
Technical and support information
If you contact us for support, we may process:
- Your email address
- The content of your message
- Information you choose to share with us
- Basic technical details needed to investigate your issue
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide the Aether app and its features
- Personalise your dashboard, baseline and goal suggestions
- Show daily plans, progress and weekly summaries
- Save your goals, check-ins, biomarker entries, supplements and simulations
- Provide optional Cloud Backup and restore features
- Send account confirmation and password reset emails
- Send local notifications if you enable them
- Improve app reliability, safety and user experience
- Respond to support requests
- Meet legal, security and App Store requirements
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not use your Apple Health data for advertising.
We do not share your Apple Health data with data brokers or advertising networks.
4. Apple Health data
Aether uses Apple Health data only with your permission.
You are in control of which Apple Health categories Aether can access. You can change Apple Health permissions at any time by going to:

Aether uses Apple Health data to support features such as:
- Movement summaries
- Sleep context
- Heart and recovery-related trends
- Baseline information
- Goal context
- Weekly summaries
Aether does not write to Apple Health unless a specific feature asks for permission and you choose to allow it.
5. Cloud Backup
Cloud Backup is optional.
If you choose to create an account and use Cloud Backup, your selected Aether data is stored securely using our cloud infrastructure provider.
Cloud Backup helps you:
- Back up your Aether data
- Restore your data after reinstalling the app
- Keep your information linked to your account
You can continue using Aether without Cloud Backup, but your data may only exist on your device.
If you delete the app without Cloud Backup, your local data may be lost.
6. Legal bases for processing
If you are in the UK or European Economic Area, we rely on different lawful bases depending on how your data is used.
These may include:
- Consent, where you choose to connect Apple Health, enable notifications or enter optional health-related information.
- Contract, where processing is needed to provide the app features you request, such as account access and Cloud Backup.
- Legitimate interests, where we process limited information to keep the app secure, respond to support requests and improve reliability.
- Legal obligation, where we need to comply with applicable laws.
You can withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, although this may affect whether some features work.
7. How we store and protect your information
Aether stores app data locally on your device.
If you enable Cloud Backup, selected data is also stored in our cloud database.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including authentication, access controls and secure cloud infrastructure.
However, no app, website or cloud service can guarantee complete security. You are responsible for keeping your device, email account and password secure.
8. Who we share data with
We may use trusted service providers to operate Aether, including:
- Cloud database and authentication providers
- Email delivery providers for account emails
- Apple services required for Apple Health permissions and iOS app functionality
- App Store services for app distribution
These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to us.
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not share your Apple Health data for advertising.
We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process or to protect the rights, safety and security of Aether, our users or others.
9. Data retention
We keep your personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, reset the app or uninstall the app.
Cloud Backup data is retained while your account remains active or until you request deletion, unless we need to retain limited information for legal, security or operational reasons.
Support emails may be retained for a reasonable period so we can manage and respond to support requests.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data
- Object to certain processing
- Restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent
- Request a copy of your data
- Complain to a data protection authority
You can also:
- Disconnect Apple Health permissions in iOS settings
- Turn off notifications in the app or iOS settings
- Export your local Aether data, where this feature is available
- Delete or reset local app data, where this feature is available
- Contact us to request deletion of Cloud Backup data

11. Children
Aether is not intended for children under 13.
If you are under 13, you should not use Aether or create an account.
If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
12. International transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries outside the UK or European Economic Area.
Where required, we use appropriate safeguards to protect personal data transferred internationally.
